Athens by Sound -From 11th Venezia Architecture Biennnale
このギリシャ館の展示もビエンナーレの全体テーマに対してひとつのユニークな解答を提示したものである。
こ こでは、来館者が自身の体験により「音」によってアテネの街を再構築するというもので、会場には真っ暗な中に無数のヘッドホンが吊るされている。ビジター はこのヘッドホンの森の中で、音の断片とスクリーンに映されるヴィジュアル・シークエンスを頼りにイメージのなかでアテネの地図を描いていく。
"This walk in the pavilion, takes you 'out there', through invisible Athes. The pavilion actually brings forth the beyond-the-material, the beyond-the built, the almost unreachable, elusive aspects of space, such as sound, the non-visible senses, the atmosphere. It thus challenges the limits of architecture, the limits of what can be mapped and re-located and what cannot..."
「物質を超えた建築」 を提唱するこのエクシビションは、フラグメンタルかつインタラクティヴな要素：音、目に見えない感覚、空気感によって建築を捕らえなおそうとする試みであ る。
これもまた、我々が自分自身を閉じ込めている既成概念を超えていくひとつの可能性を示唆してくれた展示であったと言えるのではないだ ろうか。
